Real-Time Gigabit Audio Network Diagnostics

Digital audio networks require continuous monitoring to prevent audio drops, clock drift, and packet loss. The Dante Latency & Switch Diagnostic utility analyzes managed network switches, checks for Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) misconfigurations, verifies IGMP Querier activity, and logs microsecond PTP v1/v2 clock drift across primary and secondary trunks.

Key Diagnostic Features

  • EEE / Green Ethernet Audit: Automatically flags ports operating with power-saving sleep cycles that cause packet dropouts.
  • PTP Clock Jitter Graphing: Monitors Grandmaster clock offsets and secondary follower synchronization in real-time.
  • Multicast Traffic Inspection: Audits IGMP Snooping tables to ensure unicast and multicast audio flows do not saturate non-audio control ports.
  • Latency Buffer Optimization: Calculates required buffer sizes (0.25 ms up to 5.0 ms) based on measured switch hop counts.

Robust Redundancy & Ring Topology Testing

Test your secondary audio network isolation before showtime. The diagnostic engine ensures hitless seamless switching occurs without glitching if a primary fiber trunk line is severed or disconnected during live performances.
